I’m Ms. D a teacher and communications major who’s always had a love for anime. I’m definitely a binge-watcher, and I can't resist diving into new series. But what’s different about me is that I like to research every anime I watch. I’m not just about enjoying the entertainment—I love digging deeper to uncover hidden themes, cultural references, and the unique storytelling techniques that make each show so special. It’s that mix of passion for anime and my academic background that lets me really appreciate the deeper messages behind the stories.

I’m really excited about this course because I genuinely wish there was something like this when I was growing up. Anime was always such a huge part of my life, but I never had the chance to explore it in such a deep, meaningful way. I had to figure out a lot of things on my own—what the themes meant, the cultural background, and how these stories connected to real-world issues. So, it feels really special to be able to offer a course where kids and adults alike can dive into anime and not just watch it, but really understand and appreciate it for its depth.
