Sparks Village Academy provides personalized tutoring, educational consulting, and family-centered learning support designed to meet learners where they are. We partner with students, families, and communities to offer flexible, culturally responsive educational services that support academic growth, confidence, and long-term success across a variety of learning environments.
Founded by Damica Odom, Sparks Village Academy is grounded in both professional experience and lived reality. As an educator, Damica witnessed firsthand the challenges many families face within traditional education systems—overcrowded classrooms, limited resources, inequities, and barriers to meaningful engagement. As a parent who homeschools her child, she also brings a personal understanding of navigating learning beyond conventional models.
The name Sparks Village reflects the heart of our mission. Sparks Village Academy was created with two goals in mind: to spark the minds of learners who will one day change the world, and to recreate the village it takes to raise and support a child. We believe meaningful education happens when families are supported, learners are seen, and communities work together.
Our approach recognizes that education is not one-size-fits-all. Whether families are navigating traditional schooling, in-person or virtual tutoring, alternative pathways, or home-based learning, Sparks Village Academy focuses on flexibility, advocacy, and honoring the unique needs of each learner. Education should adapt to students—not the other way around.
Through tutoring, educational consulting, and advising, Sparks Village Academy has supported learners and families across multiple stages of the educational journey. Our work is rooted in relationships, thoughtful guidance, and meaningful support—not quick fixes.
